Making the most with your time...

So you're spending all your time stuck in free chat... uggggg.  Nothing can be more frustrating.  I can guarantee you its one of three things:

1. You're doing too much
2. You're not doing enough
3. You don't have good traffic

So let's work on fixing these issues.

1. You're doing too much- If you're giving away everything for free, why on earth would someone pay

2. You;re doing too little.  Again, the key word is TEASE!  No one will want to take you private if you're sitting there typing, not talking or spacing out.  Play with your breasts outside of your clothes. Lighting For Camming

Lighting is important.  Very Important!  And it doesn't have to be expensive.  You just need the right setup.  Good lighting will show all of your good sides and help to hide your "not so great" sides.  It can help to hide blemishes and bulges.  It can accentuate all your curves in all the right ways.  As you can see below, there is a specific "correct" way to do things.

This is the best way to setup your lighting.  You can always add additional lighting if it seems so dark.  You can always play with lenses and filters as well.

There's no reason to go out and spend a million dollars on lighting either.  You can find clamp lights at, surprise, Walmart for super cheap.  You know the ones, they look like:

They are the perfect lighting system, they clamp to just about anything and they are cheap.  Make sure to get daylight bulbs for the best look.  I've also heard of models adding tinted bulbs to get a different look.  Play around with it until you get just the right lighting.

If the lighting is too harsh, you can hand a simple white sheet of paper in front of the bulb to disperse the light.  Make sure the paper isn't touching the bulb, or you've got a fire coming.

You can play around with different colors of tissue paper places in a cheap frame as well.  Pick up a few dollar store picture frames and tape in your paper.  Do not place the glass or back on the frame and suspend in from of the light.... BOOM high end lighting at next to nothing cost.

Tips & Tricks Of The Trade

There are many techniques models use during a performance to capture a clients attention and ultimately lead them into high paying private chats. Over time you will develop your own skill set through experience in front of the camera, and will be able to maximize your earning potential. The following are just a few suggestions we give to new models as a standard of good practice when performing live.

Environment Is Everything

The most fundamental part of webcam modeling is often times the easiest one to ignore. So many models are losing out on big opportunities this very moment because their room is poorly lit, the camera is positioned in the wrong place, there are distracting background noise, or simply because of a messy room.

You do not need a professional lighting kit to properly light your performance. Always check the quality of your broadcast on your computer before entering into a live chat room. If you need more light, try positioning a lamp right behind the camera lens for increased luminosity. Also make sure there is nothing blocking the camera view, and that it is positioned in a location that will show your entire body.

Make the effort to create a sexy appealing environment. If you are performing on a bed, choose a set of colored linen that compliments your skin tone and attire. There is no need to go out and purchase props and furniture, most clients enjoy that they are watching you 'at home' in your personal space. Do keep things tidy, and remove any distracting elements that may direct attention away from you and your performance.

Dress The Part

Tease your way into high paying private chat sessions by enticing clients with sexy, but not too revealing clothing. You don't want to give too much away right out of the gate, keep them guessing and working towards your reveal. Wear clothing that accentuates your best features, and choose your colors carefully to match the tone of your environment. Try to have a wide variety of outfits to choose from, as return clients enjoy watching a fresh new show each time they come back. Test a few different outfits in front of the cam before going live and make sure the camera responds well to the colors, as different lighting situations produce varied results.

Keep It Fun

Once you're engaged in a private chat session, the goal is to keep your client there for as long as possible. Give them a variety of options by keeping a few fun toys handy. This introduces new ideas and sparks a clients interest to stay for a prolonged period of time. Be creative, and use the power of suggestion to draw clients into the possibility of 'what might be'. Props and toys are an amazing way to turn a 5 minute session into a 20 minute session.

Personalize The Fantasy

Engage your clients with a personal response by using their name in chat, and replying in such a way that makes them connect with you on a level beyond the visual. Speaking to them directly using your microphone is the best way to achieve this. It invokes a sense of reality when a client hears their name moaned in a live chat room, and is a guaranteed way to draw more return visitors. Make direct eye contact with the camera when talking to your client, and give them the sense that you exist in the very same room they are in.

Be responsive to your clients request, but tease them into fulfilling a larger fantasy. Always keep a new surprise left to be revealed to draw them into longer private chat sessions.

Bring A Smile

Your clients are coming to escape and you are providing them with a service of pleasure to fulfill their fantasies. Sample Photos

One things every Webcam Model needs is sample photos.  You have to have an image that will drive traffic to your room.  A simple, boring shot from your webcam just simply wont do.  HD is key.  Also, it needs to be airbrushed and look professional.  All of these things tend to be overlooked, but they are of the utmost importance.  Take a look at boudoir type photos.  This is what you want.  Make it look classy, sexy and seductive.  Don't be afraid to play with black and white images as well as color. If you have stunning facial beauty, make sure it is the focal point of your image as seen here:

as you can see, in this image, the face is the focal point while the body is slightly blurred, but still present.  This gives a very sensual pose while concentrating on the facial beauty.

Now if you're a little more uncomfortable with the look of your body in still shots, you can always pose so that you come off as very sexy while showing very little body as seen here:

As you can see, the image is very erotic, without showing much of her body at all.

For accentuating the breasts, take the photo from above the model.  This way you get all of the natural shadows given off by each breast and optimizing cleavage:

You can see the distinct shadow giving the cleavage a much more defined shape.

Son't be afraid to play with black and white.  It will give you a classic, seductive, and professional look.  When photographing for black and white, make sure to accentuate the make-up with dark eyes and a nude lip and well as playing up the hair with lots of volume.  Wear a shimmer lotion to add that highlight effect to your skin.

You can also play with distance to get a "come get me" look

This look us a little more playful.  No nudity is really shown, yet the implied, "I'm nude under here" drives men crazy.  Play with sheet and pillow placement.

For male models, it is important to accentuate your features that are distinctly male.  Concentrate on the abdominals, pectorals, and legs.   If you have great abs, show them off.  Also, don't be afraid to off center your photo to give it a unique look.

The curve of the mans body is distinctly different than the females and should be sown in unique positions.  Show the abs, pecs, biceps,  and legs all at once if possible.

Regardless of how you do it, just make sure you have great sample pictures.  You'll never get the traffic you deserve without an eye catching photo to draw them in.

Getting Started 101

Webcam Modeling can be an incredibly lucrative business - 

That being said, you have to go about it the right way.  You can't just decide to start it today without any prep and be successful.  Things you need to think about:

1.  Location
2.  Equipment
3.  Suplies
4.  Apparel & Accessories 
5.  Studio to work for

First things first, you must be 18 years old.  This is the adult industry, after-all.  You need to make sure that even if you are 18, you are emotionally mature enough to handle this kind of work.  It is very sexual and can often be degrading.  You must be tough in order to remain stable being a webcam model.  Now lets look into the specifics.

1. Location - You must have a quiet, private location to work in.  This must be a place that you know you will not get interrupted at any time.  Its not a good idea to use your living-room, even if you live alone.  There's always a chance of you getting interrupted there.  Most models use their personal bedroom.  This tends to work quite well.  Now when it comes to the appearance of your room, make it sensual.  Pillows, Pillows, Pillows... The more the better.  Run down and buy as many cheap, $2.99 pillows as you can stand.  Then decide on a color scheme.  Black & Red, Black & Pink, all White, its up to you.  Get 1 nice blanket to cover your bed and then have tons of pillows to roll around with.  Also adding candles and plants to the room, in view of the camera add a nice touch of seduction.

2. Equipment - In order to be a webcam model you need some of the right equipment.  The obvious one is high-speed internet.  When it comes to internet, the higher the speed the better.  A wired connection is always best.  Next you need to have a webcam.  Yes, I know your laptop has a camera and a mic, but quality is key.  For around $50 you can pick up a HD webcam with microphone at your nearest Walmart or electronics store.  It really will make a difference.  Lighting is also key!  Add additional lamps to your room and avoid overhead lighting.  You can pick up those cheap clamp lights that they use over chicken coops... you know the ones.  They have a black dome with a clamp on the end.  Walmart sells those too.  Use compact florescent daylight bulbs to get the best lighting and color.

3. Supplies - In order to do the job well, you will need supplies.  This includes "toys" you will use during your live paid shows.  Gather a few different toys as your clients will have different preferences.  You will also need a toy cleaner and maintainer.  Most adult stores will sell toy cleaner, or you can wash them with baby shampoo and rinse with tap water.  As far as a maintainer, it is suggested that you dust your clean toy with Corn Starch.  You will also need lubricant.  I suggest purchasing it in a flavor you enjoy :)  Things such as handcuffs, blindfolds, riding crops, paddles, and ropes may also add another dimension to your shows.  Edibles such as whip cream and honey are also a big hit.

4.  Apparel and Accessories - Make sure you dress sexy.  That should be obvious.  Gather lingerie, stockings, and a variety of high heels.  Make-up is a MUST.  This is the one time you can literally cake it on.  The more the better!  Dark colors around the eyes give of the illusion of exotic mystery.  Really go for it.  Lip gloss... lip gloss... lip gloss.  You can never have enough.  Make sure your hair is sexy.  Big sexy curly hair tends to be the best.  It looks sensual.  Make sure you nails are painted and maintained.  Sexy red is always a hit or dark colors such as black.  Pubic hair should be maintained.  Of course there are several avenues one can go, but fully shaved tends to be the most popular.  Just make sure you're clean and looking pretty for your close-up.

5.  Studio to work for - Finally you have to decide which site, or studio, you plan to work for.  There are thousands of them out there.  Some good, some bad, and some are just plain scams.  You'll read reviews of the best sites, but know that most of those reviews are posted by recruiters simply trying to make a penny of of you.  Do your research.  Find out how much they are willing to pay you.  Also you will want to know how they pay and how often they pay.  There are a few studios that offer their models direct deposit and bonuses for working well.  These are the sites you should look into.  For example, Black Diamond Models pays by direct deposit or mailed paycheck every two weeks and offer bonuses as well as being partnered with an adult toy site where you can build a wish-list for your clients to send gifts directly to you.  The important things is to look into each site and figure out what works best for you.
